Most active kids and teens in recreational or competitive sport spend what can be hours each week physically training their bodies. Yet, more often than not, their nutrition -- how they fuel their bodies -- is an afterthought which becomes evident at the concession stand and vending machine.
Using the foundation of my 5 Pillars of Performance, this hands-on, interactive discussion covers the basic science of food and how it works in the body; how we should be fueling before, during and after training and competition; and the hidden dangers of junk food. We conclude the session by making and sampling healthy, nutritious snacks that fuel performance in sport and at school.
